Just a quick winter shot that I stole while out shooting this weekend.

If I am ever at a shoot with you and randomly start shooting in the opposite direction from where you are…it is probably because I am just taking a moment out to “play” a little! Keeps me creative!
Happy Wednesday!
I am shooting a maternity session today and am looking forward to it very much!
I am also so pumped because I found a really cool old bike on the side of the road for free. Well, I am thinking it was for free because it was out there lonely in the cold and snow on the side of the road for well over a week and I drive by it every day. So today was the day that I claimed it! It is mine!!! I can’t wait to incorporate it into a shoot soon! We shall see who will be the lucky winner to have cool rusty old blue bike in their pics!

My friend Robin and I have been chit chatting about cool workshops and I mentioned how cool the Love Affair Workshop seemed. It is held by Kelly Moore, Davina Fear, Millie Holloman, and Lauren Clark. I really wanted to go and just couldn’t fit into my schedule this year. Next year it is definitely on my to-do-list. So in search of other cool, week long type photography workshops Robin found this really cool one that is open to women and men. (LOVE AFFAIR is girls only…sorry guys! ;o)
So the cool one is called Flourish…and I alone like the site let alone the thought of how the workshop is structured. Flourish I believe is not really focusing on wedding photography. But I love to do all sorts and I am sure there are wedding photogs out there like myself that are really looking to expand their horizons and venture out of the box and do a little something different every now and again to keep your creative juices flowing.
Okay…so if you happened to be on the hunt for some workshops…
here are the ones that I have considered attending and hope to someday!
Shootshops …by the Kaisers A.K.A. The Image Is Found… Need I say more!
The Anti-Workshop… by the Boutwells
and this one is cool too …
Flourish… this looks pretty cool, based in Kentucky. The song on the website is playing over and over in my editing room as we speak! ;o)
Just a little teaser shot from Shan’s TTD session yesterday! This was the last shot Shan and I got. We froze are buts off for three solid hours and trampled through snow to get to all of our locations. The light was falling on us and we got this one just in time! It was probably the most fun shot we created. I simply told her to toss up her boquet and be like HURRAY!!!! We are done shooting and freezing our you-know-whatsee’s-off!
Off to an E-shoot with Carrie and Gregg!
Can’t wait!
Happy Sunday!

Okay, I am soooo tired and I have to get up early for another packed day of shooting fun! I have a really cool engagement session to do with cool people by the beach! Yes the beach…even though it snowed yesterday. Anyhoo…
the TTD shoot today with Shan went sooo great and I love the images we got. We had so much fun from start to finish…and have a whole bunch of burrs attached to us to show it!
Can’t wait to share the pics with you and thanks again Shan for an awesome day of non stop shooting for 3 hours…YOU ROCKED!!!
Never once did she complain, and this girl layed in the snow…had snow thrown on her…was in 20 degree weather in a strapless gown…
BRAVE!!!
Have a great night!
Meg
PS…totally just got my 28mm 2.8 back from getting all set up for the season and have to send it back out unless anyone has any tips for getting rid of condensation inside the lens from snow…UGGGGHHHHHHHH! That is the only negative part of shooting on location. Your lenses are put through the mill.
Okay…updated again…so I just decided to order the 24mm 2.8 as my new wide angle…it is such a good lens for the price that until I can buy the 14 to 24 next year it will keep me in the loop with my wide angle shots. I can’t be without a lens and especially a wide angle, sinceI am mainly a wide angle shooter.
B&H of Course!!!!!!!!
Can’t wait to use it!

Okay! This post probably will be pretty funny! Who knows…I may just think I am funny and not really be that funny afterall! I post sometimes about things I LOVE in life and things that make me happy and a cheerful person inside and out…HOWEVER…I am human and have many pet peeves too. Here is a list…maybe some are yours too!
PET PEEVES
1. I hate that I own about 15 pens and never know where any of them are.
2. My make-up bag…it is deadly in there…it is small and I stuff every piece of make-up I own in there and it is getting pretty scary…I NEED something BIGGER.
3. I hate when I don’t blow dry my hair right away and I try to do so when it is already half dry…This makes for a BAD hair day.
4. I hate when I go to make eggs over easy and I ruin the whole idea of an over easy egg by making the yolk break when flipping the egg. I have to remember to be patient and wait for the right moment to flip. It is an artform.
5. I don’t like it when my dish washer utensil basket makes the knives fall through and I can’t open the whole bottom rack because it is stuck. We bought this dishwasher just over a year ago and we are down to only three compartments on my utensil holder thingy because the rest of them have big holes melted in it from the water being too hot, causing them to be of no use. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
6. I hate when I go to take a nice hot shower, only to get in and hear the heat kick in the house, and then viola’, Adios Hot Shower…This is when I either, run real quick out of the shower to turn the heat off, and run back in real quick -OR- I just decide to make it a speedy shower.
7. I don’t like the fact that it seems like most times I get into my car…I hear “BEEP”…”LOW FUEL”… Uggghhhhh…I live at the gas station.
8. On the subject of pumping gas…a pet peeve of mine is when I go to the gas station and wait in line at the pump for say about 5 minutes…and then the car at the pump pulls out towards me, only to have someone come right off the street and pull right into the spot behing them, the spot that I clearly waited five minutes for. UGGGGGHHHHH! I let this roll right off my shoulders and try to remember that life is like a box of chocolates…
9. Another pet peeve of mine is lint on a sweater. I can’t control it and it drives me nuts. I can sit there all day and pick it off and it seems that when I get back to where I started, it has already re-appeared. What is up with that?
10. The fact that if I put my mug of water in the microwave to heat up the water…and the actual mug is the only thing that gets hot…not the water. I don’t get it. It is strange.
11. I think that the fact that I have tiny pieces of paper everywhere is a pet peeve of mine…I need a notebook to jot stuff down in and remember. I have a calendar and use it like there is no tomorrow…however, I also have a collection of sticky notes on my desk…and I don’t know what half of them are refering to because they don’t have all the necessary info on them to begin with. hmmmm. I need a new system.
12. When people don’t hold the door for you and it slams in your face. I mean these are the kind of people that kinda look back at you but not really because they don’t want to make it seem like they actually realized what they just did…so they keep walking pretending that they didn’t quite see you and that they had no idea someone was even behind them. This is worse than those that do it and they are so in their own world that they really didn’t realize that there was someone behind them at all. That I find to be justifiable (spelt wrong?) I always hold the door even if they are like ten steps behind me, just because it is polite.
13. When I pour out my coffee in the morning and every time I always have some dribble on the counter from the pouring action. I don’t know what I do wrong. I always make a mess where ever I go and no matter how hard I try not to spill the coffee when pouring it, it never fails. UGGGhhhhhhh!
14. When I type this big long informational email and I hit a button and it back tracks on the computer and when I return to the page….IT IS GONE. I unfortunately do this ALOT.
That is all I have time for today…Have to go prepare for my TRASH THE DRESS session today with Shannon…This is going to be a fun day…Starting off with makeup at the Mall with Kristin from MAC and then heading off to a few locations to get some awesome pics of Shan looking HOT in a wedding gown!
Happy Saturday!
Meg
Well, I have been extemely busy with shoots considering it is the off season and also with just everyday life stuff in general…but just to keep you updated…I will be posting some of these shoots within the next couple weeks, so you will see some of my most recent work up here along with my everyday boring posts about me!!! Afterall this is supposed to be a photography blog!!! I missed you all at the PUG last night, sorry Greg, and I can’t wait until the next one so I can catch up with all you photogs out there.
So on the list of cool shoots that will be up and coming is a shoot that I did with a friend of mine, Dave, who is a motox biker…we had a fun time and it was cool to do a shoot with a subject other than a bride! Also I will be doing a trash the dress shoot this Saturday and it looks like the snow is going to make this one interesting and Brrrrrrrrr… COLD … But Shannon is my bride for this one and I know she is going to be great and we will pump her up with hot liquids and lots of blankets in between locations…
Also, I will be doing a maternity session with a return client of mine who is super pretty and such a sweet heart. I can’t wait to see her with a pregnant belly and I am so happy she is having a baby as it is something she has wanted for quite some time now…
I also have my first engagement shoot of the year this Sunday and I am so happy about doing it because E-shoots are one of my favorite things to do! I love getting to know people and they are perfect for doing just that, as well as getting awesome shots of a couple “in love” ;o)
So stay tuned for all that is coming up to view on the blog and I can’t wait to start off the year with these shoots!
I also have a bit of a surprise at my luncheon…It involves a raffle and I am so excited to have all attend have a chance to win something to take home with them! I am not disclosing such information as to what it is that you will win, but I am thinking you will enjoy it and get some use out of it! Can’t wait ! FUN STUFF!!!

So I missed some of you at the February Pug meeting tonight, as I was laid up in bed with a bit of food poisoning today and spent most of yesterday and last night in the ER with my youngest. Everything is fine, just a bit of a scare, which is normal when you have kids! So tomorrow will be the day I get back to all in terms of setting up appt./shoots and I hope you all had a great day!
Until tomorrow!

I REALLY fell in love the second I saw these. They had my name written all over them and I can’t wait to wear them. I LOVE them and you may think they are a little wild and crazy, but I am sooooo attracted to them it is not funny. And they aren’t perfect. They are a bit different in the pattern around the toe. But no need to be perfect. I am not looking for perfect in my life…just a good ol’e pair of shoes. When hunting for shoes I thought of my roller skating queen client, Kelly, because I spotted a cool pair of canary yellow pumps!
So I like these because they are first off, PEEP TOES…
Peep toes are the best thing since the crayon sharpener on the back of the 64 count Crayola Crayon box. I also like them because they make a statement and they are something you can wear with jeans, which is about the extent of my wordrobe! Also, they are super comfortable. Comfortable is sexy in my book. There is nothing worse than having a pair of shoes that are so uncomfortable they make you walk funny. Funny doesn’t equal sexy.

Just doesn’t. Also, I got them for $25 bucks…can’t beat it.
Anyway, More important stuff (like anything could be more important than finding cool shoes)
LUNCH UPDATE…
It is still being held on March 1st @ 12 Noon and it will be at my house…if you don’t know where I am then you can log into my regular website and go into my contact page and let me know you will be coming and I will give you the directions/address.
I am asking that you will bring something small to munch on, or something to drink. Either one works…I will be getting a sandwich, as I believe we will be having a pretty good number attending! Should be lots of fun! I am looking forward to it!
Have a great Wednesday!

I am bored…not really, but I am in the mood to blog. So I will blog some more funny stuff you might not know about me!
1. I have a fetish about my eyebrows. Ever since I got pregnant they seemed to have a mind of their own. Funny but very true! I don’t let just anybody touch them. I used to wax them myself, but that ended up not being such a hot idea as I soon was wearing only one eyebrow and my counter top was wearing most of the wax…I had to scrape it off with a knife. Now I tweeze them and have about three pairs of my favorite all time tweezers and never know where any of them are…But when they pop up I REALLY get excited!
2. I twiddle my hair like there is no tomorrow. I think alot when I am doing this so it is actually a good thing. From what I hear it is hereditary and my mom does it too. When I had short hair I looked totally insane driving and twiddling my hair…and when I had long hair I would purposely pull out pieces of hair from a pony-tail to perform the task.
3. I am one of four siblings…I have two sisters, Jodi and Shannon, and a brother out in LA named Chris. We are one big happy family!
4. Once when I was little (fifth grade) I got in trouble for throwing a rock at an eigth-grader who I had a crush on (not naming any names). I wasn’t the one who threw the rock, but I took the slack for it. Hmmm. I still get mad about that. ( and I still remember who threw it, but won’t name any names)
5. I broke my ankle playing soccer when I was little and I stuck a pen down my cast to scratch an itch and the cap came off and got stuck. It was there for eight weeks and I have a scar from it to this day.
6. I got burnt really bad on a vacation to Florida one year when I was a junior in high School. My mom warned me I was red but I ignored her, thinking I knew it all, and I ended up being stuck in the room for a whole week, got sun poisoning, and waddled across the street stopping traffic so I could get some Aloe Lotion at the CVS…My parents never let that one go. ;o)
7. I was extremely afraid of the Elephant Man when I was little (the old movie, which is actually very sad) and I had a neighbor that was not so nice who would taunt me with saying the name over and over. So my Dad went out and yelled at him and he never did it again! Thanks Dad!
8. I once plowed over a parking meter by accident. I thought I put the car in reverse and I believe I put it in drive instead. I drove by the parking lot a few days later and saw they had put four big orange cones around it and then soon after it was uprooted and gone forever. Ooooppps!
9. I have a seafood and alchohol issue. If I eat any type of shellfish and have alcohol at the same time I get extremely sick. NOT FUN.
10. I once baked a cake for my dad’s birthday. It was a money cake and I didn’t tell anyone and my Dad almost broke a tooth when biting into a piece. Money cake was a family tradition that my Dad’s mom used to make, by taking a regular old cake, and covering quarters, dimes and nickels with wax paper then dropping them into the batter and baking them into the cake. We were always so pumped when you got one in your piece and you’d count to see how rich you were! Fun stuff!
