PB and J Special Offer!

Hello fellow PB & Jers! (I always wanted to say that!)

I will be having a special sale at the next luncheon (read below to find out date/time/and being there or being square stuff)

I am selling some once used CF Cards at the next lunch for cheaper than what you can get in the store…

Once in a lifetime opportunity. There a few Sandisk 8gb and a few 4gb cards that I had to buy due to a problem loading my images into lightroom over the weekend,  on a double header weekend might I add…so I was left with having to buy all these cards that really I only needed temporarily. I know. Sucky.

However, this is good for you if you needed some of these and don’t want to pay full price.

I will have them at the lunch if you are interested let me know.

Talk soon,

Meg

Ps…I would like to get $125 for the 8gb’s and then $75 for the 4gb’s….

I have two 8 gigs and four 4gigs. The race is on!

Spring Things!

This is a dorky post…about spring and what I love about it…

enjoy!

1. I love the warm breeze and the beating sun!

2. I love going to parks and swinging on the swings and being a kid again!

3. I love sitting on my porch at night without having to be wrapped up in a cacoon of blankets!

4. I love the pretty flowers and going to the plant store!

5. I love being able to leave the house with out having to wear a jacket…especially when trying to leave the house with two kids. Two kids plus me equals three jackets which in turn equals not so fun!

6. I love the feeling of summer being on its way…which is by far my most favoritest season…hehe!

7. I love driving with my windows down and feeling the fresh air in my face! Today I finally got my car fixed, the windows didn’t go down for the majority of the winter season…blahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

8. I love how everyone seems to be just a tad bit more chipper!

9. I love how I remember that I have neighbors. Nobody is seen in my neighborhood until the weather gets warmer. Now it is like a parade of neighborly love all through the days! hehe!

10. I love that wedding season has approached us, of course!

11. I love that tank tops are being sold in stores…my favorite!

12. I love that make up takes a new twist in fate. Spring colors have swarmed us everywhere! Life is grand!

13. I love that I can take walks with my kids!

14. I love that I can eat ice-cream without feeling guilty since it now has a double function of tasting yummy and cooling me off!

15. Sandles and open toe shoes…NEED I SAY MORE?

Happy Spring to you and yours!

A post for Photogs!

I am leaving a link for you photographers out there…you probably already have her saved in your favorites…but of course I need to post about this because it is something I love about her work. Jessica Claire has posted a blog entry about one of her frequently asked questions from many photographers out there. One of them being me…and since reading her blog last year that posted on the same topic, I too have been using magic sharp from the one and only Kevin Kubota. Jessica’s two favorite actions by him are actually my two favorite actions as well, and I am not just saying that! They really are! Another of my favorites I use on almost all my images are the digital dodge and burns! LOVE THEM!!!!

So check it out HERE if you are intersted in reading up on her post-production workflow…

Happy Tuesday!

New Sample Album

This album was design quite some time ago and I just never sent it out for production until a few weeks ago. I was waiting for some insight as to what cover style to choose. I am a Leather Craftsmen  girl and I LOVE them! They truely are excellent quality and when I say they will last for years…I mean lots and lots of years…so No pages will be like my mom and dad’s wedding album, with the sticky stuff behind the prints and the plastic that covers the top of the pictures, and the pages that have literally fallen out of the binding (not too mention the gold lettering on the pleather cover that reads “Our Wedding Day” and is half scratched off). Wedding photography sure has come a long way since the 70’s. Together, my clients and I custom design the books and I love meeting with clients to do these! One of my favorite parts of my job. This is the moment it all ties together and the story is told and presented to you as something tangible to look back on decades from now, and help you remember and re-live your wedding day! So cool.

Anyways…I went with red…yummmmm!

Happy Monday!

My Weekend!
April 20, 2008, 2:28

Well, this weekend I had the pleasure of finally finishing up an album design for a client and spending lots of time with me. I forgot who that was for a little while ;o) !

So I spent many countless hours editing and designing in front of my computer in what I call the dungeon room…the cave… a.k.a. my editing room! It is a place in which much reminds me of being in the darkroom in college. I get lost in this room despite the fact that it literally is a four walled, not-so-roomy room. I love what I do and I really enjoy my alone time that allows me to reconnect with my images, re-living the moments in which I have captured to share with all of you and my clients.

I also found a little me time and went to Target and bought a book, although it wasn’t the book I set out to engage in, which was “Madness”, but I think since it is such a classic, “The Catcher in the Rye” by JD Salinger, that I should at least give it a whirl. I mean, I am not the book type and I don’t remember the last book I have read from start to finish. I have all good intentions when beginning a book, but unless it grasps hold of me in the first few pages…I am a goner for sure. I usually like my photograpy magazines and all those cheesey celebrity magazines, because I love to look at the pictures and see who wears what and what they are up to. I know, really cheesey! But I love them! One of my guilty pleasures in life!

I also had a wonderful dinner with my girlfriend Athena, who you may remember from my shoots.

She is an ex-client. I say EX-client because we originally met from a shoot I did of her and her husband, Jeff, a couple years ago and we hit it off as friends…so to call her a client anymore is rediculous! She has crossed the forbidden line of business mixing with pleasure…something that happens quite often in this line of business. So we headed out for a girl’s night out at Spasi in Danbury, scarfed down lots of bread, Espresso Martinis (so yummy!) and shared cheesecake (also so yummy!) and talked about life, fake eye-lashes, Bunco, and all sorts of girly stuff! Athena is GREAT company!

Then today I am headed off to my grandpa’s 95th Birthday Party at Pellici’s in Stamford. My grandfather is an amazing man who has many stories to tell, especially the one about how much he loved my grandmother, who is passed, and he carries her picture in his wallet and almost always breaks it out to show anyone new he meets to share with them how beautiful she was and how much he misses her! He is a piano tuner who still works (never retired!). My brother Christian, who does film out in LA, shot a documentary on my grandpa as a piano tuner. It is called Piano Tuner (pretty fitting) and it is a very great little 10 minute story on a day-in-the-life as a piano tuner in good ol’e Greenwhich CT. Check it out here!

So off I go to edit some more work and to stuff my face with more bread and Martinis!

Yummmmmm!

Happy Sunday!

my music friend Marc!

Last weekend I ran into an old aquaintance, Marc Huberman, while out on the town ( I feel old when I say things like that!) But anyhow…he is a musician, an instrumental guitarist, who is extremely talented and plays the most beautiful music! I have always appreciated his work and I think you should take a moment and check out his site. He is a truely talented musician and I think you will be just as impressed by his music.

Have a happy Saturday!

ProPhotoResource.com

I think some of you probably have beat me to it and have accounts here but for all of you out there that are as sloooooooooooooooooooowwww as me…there is a great resource site out there for us photogs in the business. ProPhotoResource.com is a great site with tons of articles by the best of the best in the industry. I got the link off of Jasmine Star’s blog (because I am a stalker of hers ;o) and I wanted to read her article on how she relates to her clients while shooting. That is a BIG thing for us photographers, to be able to be in the frame of mind for shooting while still carrying on a conversation that keeps our subjects happy, free, fun and feeling themselves in front of this black piece of equipment that we push in front of their faces!

So I think if you haven’t checked it out yet…YOU SHOULD! Best thing is it is free to sign up and get an account, which is necessary to read any of the articles in full. So don’t worry if you are trying to be frugal, you don’t have to pay a cent to enter! Just give them your info, which I am pretty sure you have to be a professional with a legit site and all.

Happy Saturday!

Off to finish an album….FINALLY!!!!!
