Okay…So I have the updated information regarding the indoor Day After Session at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford. I have spoken with the theater and found out some good news and bad news!
First is the Good News…They have an opening in the Belding Theater, the newest theater there (which is beautiful), on a Saturday, February 7th.
Bad news is it will cost us a bit more than expected. ;o(
So I have put together some options as to the length of time / number of photographers who will be joining in.
The cost of the rental is $250 per hour and an additional $20 per hour to have someone from the theater watching us (mandatory)
So here are the options I thought would best suit our photographic needs/pockets.
2 hours, 2 couples to shoot, 2 groups of photographers (to make it easier so we won’t be bumping into each other and getting into each other’s shots)
The cost of this would be $540 total and I figured out the cost per photograhper based on the number who will join us…
10 photogs…$54.00 per person for 2 hours
15 photogs…$36.00 per person for 2 hours
20 photogs…$27.00 per person for 2 hours
And to rent the theater for 3 hours would cost a total of $810 (3 hours of shooting, 2 couples to shoot, 2 groups of photographers)
10 photogs…$81.00 per person for 3 hours
15 photogs…$54.00 per person for 3 hours
20 photogs…$40.50 per person for 3 hours.
I know this is a tad bit more money per person than originally expected…but there is a great deal of people that are definitely interested and the Bushnell is more than happy to accomodate us for the time that we will be there. So I want to know what your real honest opinions are on whether or not you feel the amount is worth it. If this is out of everyone’s budget…and believe me I completely understand, then please let me know and I think we can maybe arrange something else to keep the group shoot something that we can do together, but in a different location that orinally planned.
Ps…I personally feel if everyone is still interested in doing it at the Bushnell that the three hours would be the better choice so we don’t feel rushed and we get out of it what we were hoping to.
Happy Tuesday!

At the end of September Joey and Stacy got married in Newtown CT. They had their reception at Tashua Knolls in Monroe. Here are some favorites!
Enjoy…

This crazy character, Vickie, was one of my 2007 Brides, which is how Stacy and Joey found me! She’s fun!

Congrats to you two and have a happy Sunday!

First things first…Yeah! All set with my site now! Sorry for any inconvenience!
Now…for the fun stuff! It was thought up by me and my friend Tania that we should get a group of photographers together to shoot a Day After type session this winter for one of my PBandJ’s. For any of you who don’t remember…PB and J is a group of us photogs, of all levels and backgrounds, that get together on a monthly basis to chat it up and learn from each other. I have met some pretty cool people and have continued being friends with them…all because of the little group called PB and J (A.K.A. Photography, Beer and Junkfood). Really like anything else in life…if we all put in to this group…the more we will get out of it! I feel so lucky to be in an industry in which we view each other as helpers, friends, mentors, inspirations, etc. rather than competition! It really is a cool thing!
The details…(so far)
We will be chipping in to rent out a theater at the Bushnell Theaters (which is said to be about $250). If we get about 15 photograhers this is only about $12.50 a piece. Pretty cheap in my book!
We will have two recently married couples, willing to get into their wedding attire again and do anything we ask of them! I am thinking two couples so we can split the group of photographers into two groups and then switch half way through…add a bit of variety to our images…as well as not be falling over each other to get our shots!
I am thinking we could end the day with a nice cold pint of ice cold beer and a slice of pizza! Mmmmmmm! This is what will keep with the whole meaning of PBandJ…and we can do all of our sharing ideas and networking during this time…
I was also thinking of having a feedback session from our couples…to let us know how they thought we did from our end.
All in all, I think it would be pretty cool day (and warm since we’ll be inside!) and we could really benefit in doing this in more ways than one! This would be your chance to try that something new you have been meaning to experiment with but don’t have time to at a wedding! Whether it be try a new technique in shooting or trying out some new lighting equipment…
So if you are interested in doing this please let me know! I am hoping to get about 15 photographers to help keep costs down. So leave a comment below or let me know by leaving me a message on my site by going into my contact page…
Hope your all having a Happy Tuesday!

This is always a pleasant surprise! My site is currently down and will be until tomorrow morning due to a faulty Automatic Renewal system in which didn’t automatically renew my domain name! Yippeeee! Life is Grand! So in the mean time…clients (and anyone interested!) can enter my site by using my old domain name, www.meganlabarbera.com
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hope you are all having a better Monday than me!
P.S. Since I am working on being more positive—on a happy note I cleaned my camera sensor myself last night and it is spanking clean! WoooHoooo!
Happy Monday!

This is my other little one! Not really my office manager, unless you call running a match box car across my computer equipment work! ;o)
She lights up the room and is a whole lot of fun! I had to post a few of her too since it is only fair!
Enjoy!

Happy Friday!

Just Kidding! Is it taboo to post a few pics of my little guy before the million other jobs waiting in the wings of the blog scene?! Well, even if it is…I am breaking the rules this time. I often get the following from clients, friends, aquaintances, and strangers…”YOU MUST ALWAYS BE TAKING A MILLION PICTURES OF YOUR KIDS”. Truth is, I am embarassed to say that I really don’t. I don’t have time. Isn’t that terrible? I think being that this is what I do for a living that it most certainly is. However, being a single mom and having to worry about lunches to make and actually remembering to bring them with us, being on teeth-brushing patrol, refereeing the continous toy battle, and on top of the demands of everyday life and business stuff…it is a rare thing for me to break out my camera and point it in the direction of my own little munchkies. (I have two in case you don’t know that!)
So here are a few pics of my little guy!

I LOVE this one…we hid in the grass from “the bears”. We had quite the adventure!
Happy Thursday!

Okay…so I have about 5 weddings waiting in the wings to blog still! So keep checking back from day to day to see the latest!
LouWanda and Mike got married at Harkness Memorial Park in Waterford CT a few weeks back and their wedding was quite the intimate and beautiful affair. Talia from Sixpence For Your Shoe did a fantastic job coordinating this wedding and providing LouWanda and Mike (and Me!) with some fabulous details to make it a gorgeous, cozy, and fun night!
Here are my favs from the day!

I loved the feather in the boquets. Datura, A Modern Garden in Middletown did a great job with the floral arrangements!
They did a first meeting before the ceremony! Love when couples choose to do this! It is such an intimate moment and I usually end up teary eyed!
This was the HAM of the evening!

Mike walking to the ceremony site…in some beautiful sunset light.

Loved the Jimmy Choos! Red on shoes is like heaven on earth!

An extremely yummy and pretty cake by Toria Dolce. I got to have a piece…it was delicous!
Talia did an awesome job creating this club like atmosphere for the dancing area at the reception!
What a sexy couple…

LouWanda and Mike wanted some pics in this nook at Harkness…A.K.A. the coat closet!

Congrats to you both!
Happy Wednesday!

I can’t believe I have been such a slacker with my blogging lately. It is something that I really enjoy doing and life has kept me from it and I don’t like it one bit! So I am very excited to share a really cute portrait session I had a while back with little Violet! She is the most adorable little bundle of joy of one of my ‘06 wedding clients, Jolene and Tom! It is always such a pleasure to be a continuous part of my client’s lives…to be asked to help them not only document the most intimate day in their lives, but then to meet again with a little one in tow! So beautiful!
So here are some of my favorites from Violet’s session!

Violet is a girl after my own heart! She had these adorable little furry booties! LOVED them!
my favorite from the day!

Of course the shoot would not be complete with out one of these in the mix!
Happy Tuesday!
