I woke up this morning to a really cool email letting me know some of my ring shots are featured on ROCKTOGRAPHERS blog today! It is a blog/site dedicated to displaying creative ring shots from professional wedding photgraphers from around the nation. It is such a cool thing to see my pics on there for thousands to enjoy! I hope you take the time to check it out! You can view the post by clicking on this link ROCKTOGRAPHERS but below I gave you a sneak peak of one of the shots that was featured! Yippppeeeeeeeeee!
Enjoy!
More pics to come soon as I just got a new studio sample book in yesterday from Leather Craftsmen and I can’t wait to share the images with you! It is a beautiful book!
Have a Happy Thursday!

I think some of you probably have beat me to it and have accounts here but for all of you out there that are as sloooooooooooooooooooowwww as me…there is a great resource site out there for us photogs in the business. ProPhotoResource.com is a great site with tons of articles by the best of the best in the industry. I got the link off of Jasmine Star’s blog (because I am a stalker of hers ;o) and I wanted to read her article on how she relates to her clients while shooting. That is a BIG thing for us photographers, to be able to be in the frame of mind for shooting while still carrying on a conversation that keeps our subjects happy, free, fun and feeling themselves in front of this black piece of equipment that we push in front of their faces!
So I think if you haven’t checked it out yet…YOU SHOULD! Best thing is it is free to sign up and get an account, which is necessary to read any of the articles in full. So don’t worry if you are trying to be frugal, you don’t have to pay a cent to enter! Just give them your info, which I am pretty sure you have to be a professional with a legit site and all.
Happy Saturday!
Off to finish an album….FINALLY!!!!!
Well, today is Saturday, and despite the dreary weather outside, I am feeling chipper!
Yesterday I got my new studio sample in of the Leather Craftsmen Fine-Art album that I designed and I am extremely excited to share the pics with you. This is a really pretty album and I LOVE it with all my heart! I of course am not usually so attached to material things, however, I am one of those obsessed photographers out there that becomes emotionally attached to images that I create and to see them displayed in a beautiful album built to last is a really cool feeling.
So here are some pics for you to see…you won’t actually see any images on the pages…however, I assure you that they are in there! ;o) Besides…what fun would that be if I didn’t leave a little mystery to it?!

and a few of my little PipiSqueak!!! Like I have mentioned before…she lucked out in the lips and eyes department…(however, this time the x-process helped a bit with that!)

She’s such a little devil…

and a bit dramatic at times as well…

But of course…I love her all the more for it!!!
Happy Saturday!

This is a two part post…
First topic is about Market View…How do I explain this…hmmmm…well, Market View is a company that gets hired by another company, many times by everyday products from food to car products to hair products. Market View is in charge of coordinating a group of people with-in a certain age range, that have similar life-styles and have used similar products to the one that they are researching. At the panel you talk about the company, such as Gerber Baby Food for instance…and you talk about their next AD campaign…from wording used in the ad to the packaging of the new product they are selling, to the sound of the music in the background of the commercial they are shooting. The group panel usually lasts about 1 and half hours and you get paid differently each time, tonight I get paid for one hour… $85 bucks in cash. Not too shabby! And it’s fun, but confidential so I can’t discuss what I will be talking about tonight other than it has to do with cable bundles.
The second part of the post is about the Digital Wedding Forum and how much I am so happy I became a pro-member there. I had an issue with some new gear that I am testing out and I have to say I found the answer to the mysterious occurance with-in minutes of posting my set back. I think it is so worth the 99 bucks to become a member for the year. It is a heavily used forum from some of the top photographers in the industry an I think that the technical support you gain from it is unbeatable…
So if you are a photographer who hasn’t yet become a member and have been thinking about joining the DWF…I highly recommend it!
WooHoo! I love going to workshops and seminars and I just got word from Greg at Leather Craftstmen that they are holding a seminar in February here in CT.
I have been to two of their seminars before and really got a lot out of it in terms on marketing strategies, album design tips, etc. Plus they have a ton of sample albums layed out that I love looking through for ideas and just to see how pretty they are! I have always used Leather Craftsmen and some of the best photogs out there use them, such as Mike Colon, Jessica Claire, Becker. I mainly went with them for a few reasons…One- they have been in business for over 50 years…that is always a plus! They know what they are doing. Two- because I edited for a wedding photog that used them and that is how I was introduced to them! And three- Becuase they truely are high end albums and built to last and are very beautifully crafted! They aren’t cheap…but you get what you pay for in my book.
So the seminar is Feb. 28th…from 9 to 4pm…in Windsor CT…and it is FREE! Let me know if you want to come and maybe we can car pool.
And you get lunch! WOOHOO!
Happy Friday…It is a Chinese Lunch Day for me and my mom! Yipppeeee! Moo-choo Chicken and eggrolls! Yum!
Meg
P.S…if you check out Jessica Claire’s blog…you can see her last wedding images and how rocked her shots shooting at an aperature of mostly 1.0 and 1.2….damn that 50mm Canon makes…I am waiting on Nikon to offer an auto focus 1.2 Aperature Lens soon… ;o)
One of my twenty new years resolutions is to really focus on the marketing end of my business this year. So today I got the first half of my new marketing materials in! I am really working hard on having everything tie together to brand myself. Everything has the same feel and look to it, from my website and studio to my business cards and marketing materials. I know this is not really anything too interesting to you probably, but I dream about this kind of stuff at night!
;o)

Don’t have much else to blog about today! Happy Friday!

I shot Claudette and Rob’s wedding back in September and they are such a handsome couple and they had such a beautiful wedding that I decided to put together a studio sample album for clients to view. It is a 10×10 magazine style album.
