Saturday I shot a wedding with my friend Peter and we shot again at the Glen Island Harbour Club over in New Rochelle, NY. This is the second time this year so far that I have shot a wedding with Peter at the Harbour Club, and it is a challange to shoot at a venue twice in a month and come up with completely different images! But I LOVE a good challange!
I was in charge of a few details and mainly being the fly on the wall for the evening! Here’s what I got for the day!
Enjoy!

I love shoes…and I am not sure which pic I like best, so here is all 3~

The couple chose to see each other before the ceremony…which is always such an honor to shoot. It is such an intimate part of the day!

We headed outside for some fun and relaxed portraits!

the rings, came equiped in this cute jewlery box! So I used it!
Ceremony…

and the reception…

Have a Happy and Snowy Monday!

This past weekend I was a second shooter at a beautiful wedding at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle in New York. I helped out my friend Peter from Peter Oberc Photography. It is always such a pleasure and a wonderful opportunity to shoot with Peter. I am very excited about the images that I captured from the day and I have quite a few to share here…I think about 60 give or take a few! ;o) Well, enough chit chat…here’s the goods…very soon I will have a slideshow up of their images set to music! For now enjoy these…
The beautiful gown.

if you don’t know me already, I LOVE shoes! These were fun with the studded toes!

Harper getting ready…

I love this shot…

their first look. I love Peter’s reaction in the background. It is true that us photographers are extremely connected to our work and the couples that we photograph and I think Peter’s expression shows that.

I am extremely attached to this one. I love it.

a couple of variations for ring shots. The first being on the piano.

The ceremony was very intimate.

Party time! Yummy cake!

I loved James and Harper’s reactions during the toasts…

The view from outside Glen Island Harbour Club.
Happy Monday!
Check back tomorrow for the slideshow version!

Jaime and Nick got married back in October in Norwalk at the Shore and Country Club. There must be a new moon or a full moon on its way because some very strange and unexplainable things have been happening to me lately. One of them being that my back end to my blog is on the fritz and I can’t leave any comments for my pictures and I can’t space them out in between shots. Just wanted to let you know that I loved Jaime and Nick and that it’s not me being a cold hearted photographer with not sharing my thoughts about their wedding. It’s technology taking that freedom from me. BooHoo to that! So here are my favs of the day! I had alot! Congrats to Jaime and Nick…a couple who obviously have passion and respect for each other.
Enjoy and Happy Monday (hopefully a bit happier than mine!)

Sarah and Brandon got married at Tashua Knolls Golf Club in Trumbull in September! You may remember Sarah as my trash-the-dress bride from last year. I am so happy I have had the opportunity to get to know Sarah as much as I have and I think her and Brandon are two peas in a pod! They are so much fun together and they brought alot of love and energy into their wedding and I had such a blast spending the day with them!
I have an extemely long post due to the awesome-ness of their wedding!!! Enjoy!
Some getting ready…Sarah was so relaxed despite the fact her and Brandon have been living in a hotel for the past couple months due to a tree fallling on their house…what a trooper!

Flowers by Danielle…who does beautiful work! She has done the flowers for my past two weddings and I was just as impressed the second time around!!!

the dress…

When I asked Sarah where her shoes were and she told me they were the pink ones over on the table, I wanted to give her a BIG hug!!! She is so much fun!
LOVE the color…LOVE the bows!

Sarah and Brandon wanted to see each other before the ceremony! I love that idea! It is such a great way to spend a little alone time together on such a busy day and take it all in!
I love Sarah’s reactions when I told her he was on his way!!!

The couple made time before the ceremony for some formals…also another idea I loved!

Brandon and the guys were so much fun to shoot!

Ceremony time!

Party time!!!

Sarah and her Grandpa… A.K.A. Fast Freddie ;o)

I love Brandon’s expression when he was lifted up on the chair!!!

Congratulations Sarah and Brandon! You are truely a perfect match and I am looking forward to our Day After Session!!! Yipppeeeeeee!

I shot a great wedding with my friend Eric from Raw Photo Design on Friday and it was so much fun to work with him again! Allison and Keith got married in Shelton and then had their reception at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown. It was great getting to know Keith and hear the story of how they met and got together! So in honor of that I will start with the ring shot!

Keith takes his hair very seriously! ;o)

the ceremony…

I have to add, this is actually round two for the lighting of the candle. Keith blew out the the unity candle by accident the first time around! I say thats good luck! ;o)

Allison’s dad surprised them with a horse and buggy ride up to the mansion!

First dance…

Congrats to Allison and Keith…it was great getting to know your story!
Happy Monday!

A couple weekends ago I had a wonderful opportunity to shoot another wedding with my friend Peter Oberc from Peter Oberc Photography. He is a blast to work with and I always have a lot of fun through out the day. This time around we shot Andrea and Jackson’s wedding in Rye New York at the Westchester Country Club.
Here’s Jackson hanging out with the guys…

these two were hams…

I LOVE the pink sunglasses!

Andrea arriving at the Church…

An alternative to the regular shoe shot. I started my day off at the church, so I wasn’t able to get all the fun and juicey detail shots at the bride’s house! So I had to squeeze a shoe shot in there somehow! ;o)

Andrea with her dad moments before walking down the aisle…

these were the stairs I had to run up and down at the church. It was a challenge as they were extremely steep with lots of curves and not so spacious.

The reception area was beautiful, warm and cozy!

I have been into shooting food ever since I first started out as a photojournalist at a newspaper. The Westchester Country Club always puts out a huge spread for the cocktail hour that is not only good tasting, but also pleasing to the eye! I love shooting food and eventually want to get into doing this in addition to my weddings! YUMMMMMM!
Andrea and Jackson having fun with their first dance…
A couple moments during their toasts!

And some fun shots…

a very sweet moment…dance with Dad!

So a huge thank you again to Peter for inviting me along to shoot with him!
Happy Monday!

Someone has asked me about my off camera lighting set up that I use for receptions so this post is about just that!
First off, I by no means can take any credit in thinking up the idea…as it is something that I had researched from other’s blogs and talked about with some local photographers from time and time again. Finally I am putting it to use. I originally noticed the lighting on Jessica Claire’s blog last year and she had posted a whole entry on how she sets it up…so to alleviate you the pain of researching it yourself in her older posts…I will just relay what I do in this post…
You will need 2 Pocket Wizards…yes there are cheaper versions out there…but seriously, if you go cheap you get cheap and when you are working a wedding where clients are paying you, you need the good stuff! So Pocket Wizards are reliable and just down right cool.
Then you will need a second flash (always good to have backup!) and set the flash to manual…
I use an Impact lightstand with an extra small Photoflex Soft Box on it to diffuse the light. (can buy it as a kit at BandH for pretty cheap…the pocket wizards are what you want to spend the mula on though)
I set it up by the DJ or Band so it is out of the way but in a good spot for me…and I shoot away! You have to play with it a little before getting used to it…but it is always good to experiment and try out new stuff when you have some more relaxed time at the reception…The result is some very nice directional lighting, rim lighting, and of course, some flair too!
Good luck!!!
The final result…

Happy Thursday!
